Once signed in please go to the Account page. From there you will be able to update your password via the link on the left.

Click on My Account in the top right corner. Inside the Account Info tab, please enter your new username in the Username field and click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

There are two ways to start: Through your personalized Dashboard or by browsing our lessons on your own.

Dashboard: Once signed in, set your learning level under "My Level" on the left side of the Dashboard and start with a lesson recommended by the Dashboard.

Browse Lessons: You can also access lessons through the Browse Lessons tab. Choose from Audio Lessons, Video Lessons or the Newest Lessons. Then, select the desired level from the left side bar navigation list. Once you have chosen a difficulty level, the menu will expand to show all the seasons, and from there you'll be able to choose individual lessons. You can mark lessons as complete to track your progress as you learn.

While there is no set time length for our lessons, they are generally ten to fifteen minutes long.

Depending on your account type, you will have access to some or all of our learning tools.

Free Lifetime Account members: For the first 7 days of your account, you will receive 7 days of free Premium access. After this trial, you'll be able to access the audio lessons from the past 3 weeks. In general, we recommend listening to the audio lesson first, reviewing the content with the Basic and Premium tools (PDFs, extra audio tracks, vocab lists with audio), and practicing with the vocab quizzes. Yes! Don't sweat it if you can't catch everything the first time. In fact, we recommend that you give our lessons multiple listens to really let everything sink in.

Yes! To take notes on any lesson for later reference, go to the lesson page and click on My Notes under the lesson title. A box will come up where you can type out and save notes. To view all notes you have made in one place, go to the Study Tools menu, and click on My Notes.

After you're done with a lesson, on the lesson page, check the box that says "Mark Lesson Complete." Once you've done that, you'll be able to see how many lessons you've completed and how much more you have left within the lesson series. A progress bar tells you just how far you've come.

Yes. If you see a lesson that looks interesting that you would like to save for later, check the box that says Add to My Lessons. This box can be found on either the lesson page, or the list of lessons in a season. My Lessons can be accessed at anytime from the Study Tools menu.

We recommend that you listen to the lesson once all the way through without reference to the lesson notes. Then, listen to it a second time while reading the lesson notes for maximum comprehension.

Quizzes test all the key grammar and vocabulary points for each lesson. They are the last step in the process of studying lessons, and are meant as a fun way to reinforce and assess knowledge.

The Grammar Bank is a comprehensive database of grammar topics that can be navigated by a variety of criteria, whether level of difficulty, alphabetically, or by relation to JLPT level. Each entry is cross-referenced to lessons that focus on the particular grammar point.

If you are trying to understand a particular grammar point, we recommend looking it up in the Grammar Bank and studying the entry and sample uses. To reinforce understanding, we recommend listening to and studying the related lessons.

The Core Word Lists can be studied alone in a number of ways:

Autoplay lets you study in a hands-off fashion. All words in a series will be displayed in a sequence. This is great if you want to study in a passive way while doing something else, whether surfing the Internet or driving to work.

For a more active and structured way to study, we recommend adding words from the Core Word Lists to My Flashcards. Flashcards are perhaps the most tried-and-true methods of studying available, and we've paired it with spaced-repetition technology so that you will see words in a sequence optimized for memory and recall. Each level has a recommended set of lists to study along with it.

Word of the Day is a separate service that is not connected to lessons. We recommend checking it every day for a painless way to acquire new vocabulary

From individual lesson or Core Word List pages, simply select the check box and click on the Add to My Word Bank button conveniently placed above. You can also search for words in the Dictionary and add them in a similar way.

We recommend looking up these words in the Dictionary box and adding them to My Word Bank. Then use the sample audio to help reinforce memory and perfect pronunciation, and even add them to My Flashcards for even more structured study.

Lesson notes and My Word Bank items can be easily downloaded in PDF form and printed. Audio lessons can be downloaded to virtually anything that plays MP3 files or burned onto an audio CD.

Multiple Choice Assessments are a Premium feature and Hand Graded Assessments are a Premium PLUS feature. These assessments can be found in pathways or are assigned directly by your Premium PLUS teacher. See the videos below to learn more about Assessments.
